Mark Wood is a pioneering electric violinist, inventor, and founder of Wood Violins, widely recognized for redefining the role of string instruments in modern music. From his early classical training at Juilliard to his groundbreaking work as a founding member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mark pushed beyond tradition to create entirely new possibilities for violin performance. Through innovations like the multi-string electric violin, self-supporting Viper design, and fretted and phantom fret systems, he helped establish the electric string category as we know it today—impacting generations of players and inspiring a global movement of modern string performance.

Kent Dockus

CEO, Owner

Kent Dockus is a Viper violinist, entrepreneur, and longtime protégé of Mark Wood, developed through years of involvement with Wood Violins, the Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp (MWROC), and Electrify Your Strings (EYS) programs across the country. Kent has shared stages with major artists including Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) and brings touring production experience from groups such as Modern Warrior. He holds a degree in Music Business from Full Sail University and pairs his artistic background with experience in both startup environments and Fortune 200 organizations, specializing in marketing and business intelligence. Kent represents the next generation of the brand, carrying forward its legacy while building for the future.
